Yale experts respond to measles outbreak in the United States

I was featured in the Yale Daily News discussing vaccine confidence and the growing challenge of misinformation in public health. In the piece, I emphasized that recent measles outbreaks reflect long-term trends in declining vaccination rates — not just the politics of the moment.

“Secretary Kennedy has been quite vocal about his skepticism toward certain vaccines and has promoted misinformation,” I told the News. “That said, I think it is important to understand that these outbreaks reflect broader trends. We’ve been seeing declining vaccination rates for several years now, well before the current administration.”
